CAREY GAGE, ESQ.

Carey Gage, ESQ Mr. Gage was born on November 26, 1953, in Rochester, New York. He holds a Bachelors Degree in political science from the University of Rochester(1975), a Juris Doctor Degree from New England School of Law (1978, cum laude), and a Masters in Law Degree (Taxation) from Boston University Law School (1979). He was admitted to the Bar of Massachusetts in 1979, and the State of New Jersey (1980); and has also been admitted before the United States Tax Court (1980); United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1980); and the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit (1980)

Mr. Gage has been practicing law in Northern New Jersey for more than twenty five years, concentrating in income, and gift and estate planning for businesses and individuals. <

Other areas of practice include:

Complex commercial transactions, including “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” reorganizations and secured transactions.
Offers in compromise and other tax workouts.
Administration of estates and trusts.>

Prior to becoming of counsel to Maneri and Maroules, LLC, Mr. Gage represented many closely held businesses, dealing with the minimization of income taxes through the use of profit sharing and pension plans; wills, trusts and other vehicles; and estate planning and administration.

He is also experienced in the acquisition and sales of businesses and the orderly transition of management upon the death of both unrelated partners or partners who are family members. This includes establishing a workable method of transferring control of the business; minimizing estate and income tax consequences involved in that transfer and estimating; and assuring a source for payment of estate taxes.
